Partnerships
The Renewables IPP Programme is not exclusively about Power but rather development of communities, improvement of social wellbeing and a prospect of a better life for the communities within which we have been trusted with an opportunity to develop our businesses. Bokpoort CSP has redefined the PPA to mean Permanent Residency/Local Citizenship with Accountability.
ACWA POWER, Bokpoort adopted a 5 prong approach to Socio Economic and Enterprise Development. All eleven (11) projects are alignment with National Development Plans (NDP) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
In 2013 an MoU was signed to forge strong partnership with Local Government and Communities to tackle pressing social issues and boost economic growth. Our joint initiatives have made tangible differences in the lives of the community within which we operate. These partnerships have demonstrated a positive change in the amongst other;
- Youth Empowerment Projects: skills training, bursary schemes and apprenticeship project to enhance employability and future prospects.
- Community Development: Support for local entrepreneurs, promoting economic growth and community cohesion.
- Environmental Conservation: joint efforts to protect and preserve natural resources, ensuring a sustainable future. Many other impactful projects are as a result of these partnership agreements and collaborations that seek to address social ills, stimulate economic growth, and create a brighter future for all.
Community engagements form a big part of this MoU, through constant engagments we ensure our project address issues raised by the communities and they play a role in safeguarding the infrastructures built, continue with economic growth projects.
